Lockheed Martin and Empact Norway AS Collaborate to Incorporate AI into Aircraft Maintenance

Oslo, Norway—December 16, 2024: Lockheed Martin and Norwegian software company Empact have announced a new contract to advance artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning in aircraft maintenance. The collaboration focuses on developing a new module for Lockheed Martin’s Aurora Maintenance Management System (AMMS) to improve the identification and planning of aircraft repairs.

By integrating AI and machine learning into maintenance processes, the project aims to reduce aircraft downtime and enhance operational readiness. This initiative enables Lockheed Martin to explore new technology innovations, strengthen their continued support of the Norwegian defense industry while enabling Empact to expand its expertise in advanced technologies.
